Bangladesh-based healthcare leader Sakif Shamim got featured in Forbes.mc magazine in one of their latest print edition as Person of the Year.

Mr. Sakif Shamim, the Managing Director of Labaid Cancer Hospital & Super Speciality Centre in Bangladesh is a man on a mission. His dedication to improving healthcare services in Bangladesh has earned him a reputation as one of the most dynamic leaders in the healthcare industry. His contributions have earned him recognition both locally and internationally, and he has become a role model for aspiring healthcare professionals in Bangladesh.

Mr. Sakif Shamim born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has done MSC in Major Programme Management from the University of Oxford (UK), MBA from University of Chicago (USA) and BBA from BRAC University. Master’s in clinical operation from Harvard Medical School. Currently, he is serving as the Managing Director of Labaid Cancer Hospital and Super Speciality Centre and the Deputy Managing Director of Labaid Group, Bangladesh.

Recently, he is honored with the Asia’s Greatest Brands & Leaders Award 2021-2022, Achieved the Growing Business Award 2022 for the greatest brands and Leaders in Asia and Featured in Forbes Asia 100 to watch in Leadership, ‘Game Changer’ by Indian magazine Business Today, CEO Insights presents the “Top 10 Leaders in Bangladesh-2022” award and Most Promising Leader – Healthcare, Bangladesh by Global Brands Magazine AWARDS–2022, I Success Awards Dubai Edition presents ‘Healthcare Entrepreneur of the Year in Asia’, “Meet Mr. Sakif Shamim, a man who is revolutionizing the world of healthcare and achieving success in the changing healthcare sector” by “Entrepreneur First” Magazine, “Setting the Standard in Health Care” by “TIME” magazine, “Redefining CANCER CARE IN BANGLADESH” by “Outlook Business” magazine and more. Also, he is a founder of LifePlus Bangladesh Ltd. Lifeplus Bangladesh is a healthcare app for maintaining efficient and interactive healthcare with patients.

Labaid Cancer Hospital and Super Speciality Center seeks to bring advanced cancer treatment to the patients that include six advanced modular operation theatres, three advanced LINAC machines, robotic surgery, a solid organ transplantation programme, BMT Unit, cyber knife technique, access to clinical research drugs.

  • 10 Multi Specialty Hospitals
  • 30 peripheral cancer centres
  • 500 bedded hospital and medical college at Purbachal
  • Mother and child hospital
  • 100 bedded hospital at Chittagong

Shamim’s rise to the top was swift, and he soon found himself leading the Labaid Cancer Hospital & Super Speciality Centre. Under his guidance, the hospital has grown to become one of the most trusted and renowned cancer treatment centers in Bangladesh. The hospital provides advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities to cancer patients and has a team of experienced doctors and medical professionals.

One of the hallmarks of Shamim’s leadership is his focus on providing patient-centric care. He has implemented various initiatives to improve the overall patient experience, such as establishing a dedicated patient feedback mechanism and introducing a mobile app that allows patients to access their medical records and communicate with their doctors.
