New Delhi, [India] July 24, 2026: With the media industry, rapidly evolving through digital platforms, AI, creator-led storytelling, and multimedia communication, Lovely Professional University’s (LPU) School of Journalism and Mass Communication is preparing students for future-ready careers through an industry-driven, experiential learning ecosystem. Admissions are currently open for BA (Journalism and Mass Communication), MA (Journalism and Mass Communication), and Ph.D. programmes.

The School blends classroom learning with extensive practical exposure through newsroom simulations, live reporting, field assignments, podcasting, filmmaking, mobile journalism (MoJo), multimedia storytelling, and digital content production. Students gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art facilities, including a professional TV studio, podcast lab, chroma studio, photography labs, digital newsrooms, radio production facilities, and Mac-based editing suites that replicate real newsroom and production environments.

To ensure graduates are industry-ready from day one, students are trained on professional media software widely used across newsrooms, production houses, advertising agencies, and digital media organisations. These include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Audition, and Logic Pro, enabling them to develop expertise in graphic design, publication layout, video editing, audio production, podcast creation, and multimedia storytelling.

Keeping pace with the changing media landscape, the curriculum incorporates emerging domains such as AI-assisted content creation, data journalism, digital storytelling, and social media communication. Alongside these technological advancements, students are trained in media ethics, fact-checking, editorial decision-making, and responsible reporting, ensuring they are equipped to navigate the evolving media ecosystem with professionalism and integrity.

Students further strengthen their industry readiness through internships with leading media houses, digital platforms, production companies, and corporate communication teams. Supported by dedicated placement assistance and a strong industry network, graduates have secured careers across television, print, digital media, advertising, public relations, filmmaking, and content creation.

The School also regularly hosts interactions with eminent media professionals, including Pankaj Pachauri, Rehan Fazal, Rajesh Badal, Vinod Kapri, Ashutosh, Qamar Waheed Naqvi, Javed Akhtar, Sanjay Mishra, and Piyush Mishra, offering students first-hand exposure to evolving media practices and industry expectations.

Dr. Pavitar Parkash Singh, Senior Dean and Head of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, said, “Media plays a vital role in shaping informed societies, making it essential for future journalists to combine technical excellence with ethical responsibility. LPU’s vision is to nurture media professionals who value accuracy, credibility, critical thinking, and public interest while embracing emerging technologies and evolving storytelling formats. Through experiential learning and continuous industry engagement, students graduate with the skills, confidence, and ethical foundation to contribute meaningfully across the evolving media landscape.”
