London, [UK] 14 July 2025: The Global Health Awards 2025 were held at the House of Commons in London, shining a global spotlight on excellence, innovation, and dedication in the healthcare sector. The event brought together physicians, researchers, advocates, and institutions from around the world to recognise those whose work continues to shape the future of global health.

Opening the evening, L. George, Chairman of the Global Health Awards and Director of Luminary Networks Ltd, addressed the international gathering with a message of purpose and unity:

“These awards honour more than individual brilliance; they shine a light on collective impact. Healthcare today demands collaboration that crosses borders, disciplines, and sectors. Tonight, we celebrate a global network committed to building a healthier, more equitable future.”

Adding to the evening’s message of partnership and progress, Mr. S.K. Sahu, Chairman of WBR Corp, a long-standing collaborator with the Global Health Awards, shared:

“It is truly an honour to be part of a platform that not only recognises medical excellence but also fosters global partnerships in health and development. At WBR Corp, we believe that acknowledging pioneers across healthcare inspires new generations of professionals to lead with integrity, innovation, and compassion.”

Hosted in the iconic surroundings of Westminster, the ceremony featured stirring keynote addresses by two of the world’s foremost healthcare figures. Dr. Aseem Malhotra, internationally recognised cardiologist and public health advocate, was awarded Excellence in Public Health Communication for his outspoken work on ethical medical practice and prevention-based care.

“I’m truly honoured to receive this award,” Dr. Malhotra said. “This, along with my keynote speech being well received, is a testament that a more honest health narrative is gaining traction in powerful circles. I dedicate this award to all doctors, vaccine-injured and unvaccinated, who have been relentlessly fighting for justice and restoring ethical, evidence-based medical practice to the core of public health policy.”

Joining him was Dr. B. Durgaprasad Reddy, a pioneer in cardiac surgery with over 26 years of clinical excellence. He was recognised as Global Healthcare Icon in Cardiac Sciences.

“Receiving the Global Health Award 2025 at the prestigious House of Commons, London, is not just a personal honour, it is a recognition of the countless lives we, as healthcare professionals, are privileged to touch every day,” Dr. Reddy said. “This award reaffirms my belief that compassionate care, scientific excellence, and relentless commitment can truly transform patient outcomes in cardiology. I dedicate this recognition to my patients, my dedicated team, and to the global community of clinicians striving to make heart health a universal priority.”

The evening honoured a diverse group of winners whose efforts exemplify healthcare excellence and social responsibility:

• Hospital of the Year: Cleveland Clinic London

• Surgeon of the Year: Dr. Chinmay Gupte

• Outstanding Community Outreach: Parkinson’s Centre for Integrated Therapy

“These healthcare awards seek excellence in holistic, person-centred, inclusive care,” said Prof. David Wilkinson. “It is a privilege to have been selected from so many other worthwhile contenders across the world.”

• Nurse of the Year: Ms. Venessa Sturt

• Excellence in Community Medicine: Dr. Dominie McConnell

• General Practitioner of the Year: Dr. Deepan Patel

• Homecare Provider of the Year: Aum Care Group

“We are deeply honoured to receive this award at such an iconic venue,” said Pranav Vora, CEO and Director. “This recognition reflects the heart and soul our team puts into every aspect of care. We believe in creating meaningful, respectful, and culturally attuned care experiences for every individual and family we serve.”

• Excellence in Oncology & Cancer Care: Dr. P. S. Dattatreya

• Public Health Champion (India): Reckitt – Dettol Banega Swasth India

• Community Impact (India): Reckitt – Self-Care for New Moms and Kids Under 5

• Lifetime Achievement Award: The Rt Hon. the Lord Darzi OM KBE

The 2025 awards also honoured The Loomba Foundation as the official charity partner. Founded by Lord Raj Loomba CBE in memory of his late mother, the foundation works globally to uplift widows and their children through vocational training, education, and advocacy.

“Widows are among the most marginalised women globally,” Lord Loomba said. “Empowering them uplifts not just individuals, but entire communities. Healthcare training, such as our program for General Duty Assistants, is a life-changing pathway to dignity and economic independence.”

Just £50 can fund training for one widow or young person to become a healthcare assistant, a message reinforced throughout the evening with pledge forms distributed to all guests.

Adding a creative dimension to the evening was the UK debut of PINK VFX, the world’s first women-led visual effects studio. The company, which is producing a documentary spotlighting healthcare pioneers, partnered with the awards to showcase the role of storytelling and immersive media in public health and medical education.

Closing the ceremony, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Committee Member of the Global Health Awards, thanked all awardees, sponsors, and guests:

“Tonight we don’t just celebrate achievement, we honour a shared mission to deliver ethical, inclusive, and resilient healthcare systems. The work continues, and together, we will go further.”
